The bar was now set at 2.04 meters, a height that would test the limits of the remaining competitors. McDermott, after a valiant effort, failed to clear the height, finishing with a commendable bronze medal. The stage was now set for a thrilling duel between Mahuchikh and Lasitskene.
Mahuchikh, with her fluid technique and incredible composure, cleared 2.04 meters on her second attempt, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Lasitskene, not to be outdone, also cleared the height on her second try, setting up a dramatic finish.
